Introduction to this document
Environmental management organisational structure
Your environmental policy should clearly allocate responsibilities. It’s best practice to summarise these in an organisational structure. Our example should help you to achieve this.
Structured approach
Having an organisational chart for environmental management will help managers and employees to understand what’s required and by whom. It also helps to demonstrate to clients, enforcing authorities etc. that you have an environmental management structure in place.
Our Environmental Management Organisational Structure can be adapted to your needs. It covers the roles of managing director, environmental manager, all company directors, senior managers and all employees.
Note. You may wish to use this in conjunction with our Environmental Management Responsibilities document, which sets out the responsibilities in more detail.
