Introduction to this document
Fire action notice - reception
Our notice will help prompt reception staff about how to call the Fire & Rescue Service in an emergency.
Why do you need it?
When a fire alarm goes off or smoke drifts through the building, even the most level headed member of staff might forget vital details. Since very few of us receive regular practice at phoning the fire brigade we’re probably less familiar with the procedure than we need to be.
Our Fire Action Notice - Reception is designed to be displayed adjacent to the phone on your front desk. The idea is that staff will become familiar with the contents by seeing it every day. It leads them through the procedure with simple and easy to read instructions.
Before printing, make sure that you add the telephone number of the premises and the address, as these details must be given to the operator. The emergency number from the landline should also be corrected, if appropriate.
