Use of chemicals checklist
You may think that the proper management of chemicals is complicated, but it needn’t be. To help you, we’ve devised a simple to use checklist.
Use of chemicals checklist
Failing to control exposure to hazardous chemicals can cause problems such as ill health and fire. It may also get you into trouble with the enforcing authorities.
Just like other areas of health and safety management, it’s important that managers monitor and review the arrangements in place. Work through the questions and make any notes at the end of further action which needs to be taken.
The form is divided into seven sections covering purchasing, ordering, storing, risk assessment, safe use, emergencies and monitoring.
Note. Depending on your own needs you may decide to add questions on specific engineering controls, such as the use of fume cupboards.
