Young persons checklist

Young workers are those who are over the school leaving ag    e of 16 but under 18. Employers need to take additional responsibility for such people because of inexperience in the workplace.

Managers in particular have a responsibility for the supervision of all young people who work for them. It should always be remembered that they are more vulnerable than experienced members of staff and therefore will require closer supervision and instruction. Use our checklist to assist you in meeting your obligations towards the young people in your employment. It highlights the general issues that will need to be addressed and you can add to it depending upon your own workplace situation.
