Formalise your position

Although the associated risks are relatively low, if staff use hand tools, such as screwdrivers, hammers, snips, knives, etc., it won’t hurt to clarify how you want them to be operated. For example, a screwdriver is for its intended use only and not to be used as a hammer.

Liability

Although it might seem unnecessary, we think it’s a worthwhile exercise, as it will provide you with a formal training record and signed agreement on the safe systems of work to be followed. This could help to reduce any potential liability in the event of an accident.

What’s covered?

Here the individual receiving the training and the trainer should sign to confirm that the session has been completed.
