Introduction to this document
Environmental management responsibilities
Making roles and responsibilities crystal clear to directors, managers and staff will help to minimise the risks of an environmental incident taking place. It will also help to ensure the success of any “green” schemes.
Management responsibilities
Rather than just hoping that staff will follow your environmental policy, having defined responsibilities will help ensure your policy is adhered to. To assist you in deciding what these duties should actually be, use our Environmental Management Responsibilities document.
Tip. This document should be amended to suit the particular needs of your organisation. If you feel that some individuals should have additional, or fewer, duties then you should amend it accordingly. However, overall responsibility should always remain with the managing director of your company.
Note. This document should be used in conjunction with our Environmental Management Organisational Structure document.
