Introduction to this document
Hazardous materials register
Use our register to keep a list of any substances on site which could be hazardous in the event of a fire.
Why do you need it?
Legislation requires businesses to provide information about hazardous materials (unless there’s only a slight risk) to the Fire & Rescue Service (FRS). The easiest way to do this is to keep a brief register. Make it readily available, e.g. kept by the alarm panel or in your fire log book, and write to the FRS offering a copy. These simple actions will enable you to avoid the risk of non-compliance.
