You can keep a lid on your liability for homeworking by using our agreement template.

How it works

Although employees are responsible for many aspects of safety in their home, it’s still a workplace, and the computer and other items you provide are “work equipment”. You are responsible for the safety of the workstation although the furniture might belong to the employee. Furthermore, you are responsible for managing homeworking staff, and there’s a risk of causing ill health due to stress.

Our Homeworking Agreement should reduce the chance of a successful claim. To use it simply issue it to any office worker working from home. Review the answers and if you’re happy to proceed it should be signed by a manager and kept on the employee’s personnel file.
