Introduction to this document
Safety briefing - accepting food deliveries
When unsafe food arrives in a delivery, such as chilled food which is too warm, it will prevent all sorts of problems if your staff confidently reject it. Use our briefing to help them do this.
What’s covered?
Our Safety Briefing - Accepting Food Deliveries identifies the hazards to look out for, as well as contamination from bacteria and viruses. It covers the risks and control measures including training requirements, temperature checks, health screening and providing clean protective clothing. At the end there is a summary of key points which you can use to reinforce their learning.
Quiz time
As a way of gauging how much of the information staff have absorbed during the training session, we have included a brief quiz. We have made sure the questions are suitable for all food handlers so that everyone can be prepared to accept a delivery if necessary.
