Directors’ health and safety checklist
Directors are more likely than ever to get the blame when there’s a health and safety incident. Using our checklist will help them to avoid legal action.
What’s covered?
Directors and other senior managers need to show that they take reasonable care. A good place to start is with recommendations from the HSE and the Institute of Directors. So we’ve created a checklist based on that guidance.
Broadly, it covers:
- the role of the board, i.e. how board meetings should operate, information to be received and monitoring which should be undertaken
- the actions which individual directors should take
- checks which should be carried out on the company’s arrangements for health and safety.
